Your support is needed and greatly appreciated, here are a few ways you can help:

Mahone’s Tavern & Museum, Inc. was established to foster the preservation, restoration, and presentation of Mahone’s Tavern in order to identify and present not only the historically significant incidents which occurred at the Tavern, but also to learn of the endeavors and achievements of the people who lived there, and their importance and influence upon events in our community, our state, and our nation.

  • Acquisition efforts were begun in 2008, and Mahone’s Tavern and Museum was incorporated and a Board of Directors formed that year. Through the efforts of the Board; the Urquhart-Gillette Camp #1471/Sons of Confederate Veterans; the Jerusalem Chapter #2489/United Daughters of the Confederacy; several local foundations, charities, and civic organizations; and many local individuals, the mortgage was paid in 2013.
  • During the purchase process, the majority of funds raised went to payment of the mortgage, with only stabilization and necessary maintenance expenditures being made. Now that the purchase is complete, the work towards restoration, preservation, and presentation must begin in earnest. Obviously these goals cannot be accomplished without the support of organizations and interested individuals, such as those who so generously helped during the purchase phase.  The continued protection, restoration, preservation and presentation of Mahone’s Tavern’s history to the general public, researchers, and students will require a significant amount of funding.
